JIM UNSTUCK
You saw Jim and he told you how he had read just about half of Slaughterhouse Five , and, like Billy Pilgrim, was thinking that maybe he was unstuck in time too. He also thought about that Vonnegut had given Billy the last name "Pilgrim" on purpose - that it gave him that quest-kinda feel. He was, like you said, only halfway through the book, and on one level he thought it was just a pulp sci-fi piece of shit. Because you'd read it twice, and seen the movie too, you agreed with him. Jim, you said, that's just what he wants - it's like he's channelling his sci-fi trash alter-ego Kilgore Trout. But Jim wants to talk about himself - how he feels unstuck in time too. But you have a ticket on The Titanic, and tell him you'll finish this conversation when you arrive at your destination.
