Jim dreams about Heartbreak Hotel. It’s all mixed up, as dreams often are, with other stuff, like the time he was in jail in Fresno. This was back in ’74, when he was there visiting his cousin Ernie, who was a fence and also headed a chop-shop crew. One thing led to the next, which led to another thing, which led back to the first thing. Jim was stuck in this circle of Ernie, and wound up in jail. But in the dream Ernie was Scotty Moore, Elvis’s first guitar player.
